Former Saint John Rapids standout Nate Watson is off to an incredible start with Quinnipiac, establishing himself as one of the top goal scorers in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Quispamsis, N.B. native is currently fifth in the conference with an impressive 2.17 goals per game, proving to be a key offensive weapon for the Bobcats in his sophomore season.
Watson, a 5-foot-9, 160-pound attackman, has quickly made his mark in the NCAA ranks. Through six games in 2025, he has netted 13 goals and added seven assists for 20 points, while firing 31 shots at a 41.9% shooting clip. His ability to find the back of the net has been complemented by his efficiency, with 71% of his shots hitting the target.
A former ECJLL First Team All-Star in 2023, Watson continued to develop his game with the St. Catharines Jr. B Athletics in 2024, where he recorded an impressive 44 goals and 39 assists for 83 points in 21 games. His strong play earned him a spot with the Burlington Blaze of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) for the 2025 season.
Watson’s contributions have been crucial for Quinnipiac, helping them build momentum early in the season. His lone game-winning goal highlights his knack for delivering in key moments, and his eight ground balls and three caused turnovers demonstrate his ability to contribute beyond just scoring.
With his elite scoring touch and well-rounded play, Watson is quickly making a name for himself at the NCAA level. As the season progresses, the former Rapids star will look to continue his dominant form and solidify his place among the top talents in the MAAC.
